CANTOR ELI B. PERLMAN has served the Jewish Congregation of Concordia in Monroe Township, NJ, since 1995, and acted as the congregation's spiritual leader since July, 1997. Prior to coming to NJ, Eli served as the Youth Director in Temple Beth El, Rochester, NY, and served as the High Holiday and Festival Cantor at Temple Israel in Manchester, NH, for 10 years. While in NH, Eli served as president of Temple Israel, chairperson of the Manchester Board of Jewish Education, and was a member of the Jewish Federation of New Hampshire. Today, Eli is an annual participant in the annual Henry Ricklis Yom Hashoa Holocaust Commemoration. Additionally, Eli raises considerable funds for the Jewish Family Services of Middlesex County when he sells the Chumitz (the food that is not permitted for Jewish people to eat on the Festival of Passover) for the congregation. Eli is a member of the Vaad HaRabanim (Board of Rabbis) of America and is a Life Associate Member of Hadassah and a Life Member of the Jewish War Veterans. Since 1976, Eli's secular focus has been in the information systems industry, with a specialty in healthcare systems. Eli is currently with Cognizant Technology Solutions and has served in various capacities with corporations such as TIBCO Health Sciences, SeeBeyond, marchFIRST, Oracle, Delphi Technology, Computer Sciences Corporation, Quest Diagnostics, and HP (Digital Equipment Corporation). Throughout the years, Eli's expertise and reputation have afforded him the opportunity to work with senior corporate leaders in many of the boardrooms of the Fortune 500 companies. Eli was a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), and the American Society for the Advancement of Project Management (asapm). He was the first co-chair of the Drug Pedigree Work Group of GS1’s EPCglobal. He was also the first co-chair of the National Council of Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) WG17 – RFID/Auto-ID Working Group. Additionally, Eli enjoyed various memberships in the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Health Level Seven (HL7, Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), and the Health and Human Services funded Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP) as a member of the Population Health and the Consumer Empowerment Technical Committees. Eli and his wife, Lynne, having four grown children and one granddaughter, live in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
